Sweet and Sour Tofu

When I was driving home today, hubby texted me that he was cooking sweet and sour tofu for lunch. Mmmmm... Sounds delicious! We haven't had that before so I know that hubby did some researching.

He did his homework. Hub's sweet and sour tofu is so yum! It's mixed with minced pork so yeah it's not literally just tofu. I love the taste of the ginger and the garlic. He also put chili sauce but it's not too hot. All good for kids, you can just add more chili as you eat it if you want it more spicy.

Sweet and sour tofu is another good recipe for tofu especially if you're sick and tired of eating fried tofu or tokwa't baboy all the time.

Try sweet and sour tofu for a change. Here's the recipe:


Tofu sweet and sour

Ingredients:

2 square soft tofu
200 g minced pork
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 tbsp chopped spring onion
1/2 cup water
1 tsp chili sauce
1/2 tsp tomato sauce
1 tsp corn flour
1 tbsp water
pepper to taste
2 tbsp soy sauce

Procedure:

1. Heat 1 tbsp oil. Fry garlic, ginger and spring onion till fragrant. 1 minute.
2. Add minced meat. Fry till fragrant. 1 minute.
3. Add water, chili sauce and tomato sauce and simmer for 2 minutes.
4. Add bean curd squares, simmer for 1 minute.
5. Add the pepper, soy sauce, and the corn flour and water mixture, to thicken.
It only takes 1 minute.
6. Switch off fire. Dish out for serving.
7. Garnish with spring onion and chili.

8. Serve and enjoy with family and friends.
